Count unique array function

I've been trying to this but I'm having trouble working out a formula in a single cell.
I want to be able to select a range of cells with several unique values and get an array result which counts each of the unique values.
For example, if I have data in a column that looks like this:
a
a
a
b
b
c
 
There are 3 a's, 2 b's and 1 c.
So I would want an array result that looks like this: 3,2,1
Is this possible?
Any help greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the answer but it wasn't quite what I was looking for.
It's difficult to explain I guess. I didn't actually mean a results of "3,2,1"
I meant it would give me a result of 3.
 Then, if I dragged it down two cells I would get:
3
2
1
Hence the array 3,2,1.
And you're right it's not the end result.
What I want to do is to be able to take the product of the array.
So 3*2*1 = 6.
Any ideas?
That's a nice looking add-in though.

If you just want something that basically does: 3*2*1 = 6

=PRODUCT(IF(FREQUENCY(MATCH(A2:A7,A2:A7,0),ROW(A2:A7)-ROW(A2)+1),FREQUENCY(MATCH(A2:A7,A2:A7,0),ROW(A2:A7)-ROW(A2)+1)))
** array formulas need to be entered using the key combination of CTRL,SHIFT,ENTER (not just ENTER).
Hold down both the CTRL key and the SHIFT key then hit ENTER.
