Cannot connect to any wireless networks after Windows 7 upgrade from Vista

I have a Dell E6500 laptop.
When I had Vista on it I was able to connect to wireless networks at work and home.
Since upgrading to Windows 7 32-bit the laptop sees all the wireless networks at work and home but will not connect.
There are several thousand
people at my work who are able to connect to the wireless network so the problem is not with access points or router settings.

·        What happens when you click the access point which you get in wireless networks?
·        Have you installed the latest network drivers for Windows 7 from the manufacturer’s website?
·        Is the wireless connection you are connecting to is a secure connection?

Update the Network drivers from the manufacturer’s website and check whether you are able to connect to the home network.

Step 2:
Sometimes DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) service is not able to pull an IP address from DHCP server (which means the network stack on Windows).
Since you have done an upgrade install of Windows 7 from Windows Vista, it might be that
tcp/ip stack and winsock is corrupted.
Reset tcp /ip and winsock and check whether you are able to establish a network connection.
Follow the steps mentioned below.
a.       Click on Start and type in cmd.                                                
b.      From the list right click on cmd and click on Run as Administrator.
c.       Enter the commands mentioned below (one at a time) and press Enter.
o   netsh int ip reset C:\netsh.log.txt
o   netsh winsock reset

If you failed to fix it, another option is to call Microsoft and walk through the process with a technician. To do this, dial "1-800-936-5700". Explain the error that you received and the steps in the update process during which it was displayed. The technician will be able to walk through the steps from getting a new product key to finishing the installation.
