Computer restarts when in Away mode

I have Windows 7 x64, Phenom II X4 965, 8GB 1333MHZ RAM, 1 Tera HDD, HD 5870,
My PC seems to reset every time i leave it for about 10 minutes, presumably when it goes to "away mode".
I looked up the problem and got he impression it may be a BDOS problem so I went to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\System\Advanced system settings\Setup and recovery\Setting and i disabled the automatic Reset and it caused it to make my pc
go pitch black and not respond, forcing me to reset it to rsume functionality (seems like an evil joke haha).
Could anybody tell me what the problem is and how do i fix it? it is frustrating and annoying

Method 1:

I recommend you to update the display drivers and see if it makes any difference.
You must be logged on as an administrator to perform these steps.

a.
Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Device Manager.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
b.
In Device Manager, locate the Device, and then double-click the device name.
c.
Click the Driver tab, and then click Update Driver and follow the instructions.

Note: Visit you manufacturer's website to download the latest display drivers.

Method 2:

I would suggest you to delete all the power plans on your computer and check if that fixes the issue.

Try creating another power plan on your computer and check if the issue persists.

Running System Update Readiness Command

On running the System Update readiness Command, it will Detect & Replace Incorrect Registry data with the Correct one. Which may ultimately Solve Computer restarts when in Away mode in Windows.

Open CMD as Administrator by Simply Right Clicking on Start button > Command Prompt (Admin).
Now Type or Copy paste "DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth" and hit Enter,
Now again Type or Copy paste this "DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth" and hit Enter.
Close the Command Prompt Window because we are done.

Try and see if you still get the same error Computer restarts when in Away mode in your Windows.
