Count of raw records doesn't agree with count of pivot table

Excel 7/W-XP Pro
 
My table consists of 44,800 records of vehicles listed by agency, make, model, color, year, plate.
 
When I filter these records for a single model, say a Honda Accord, I get a count of 1507.
 
When I create a pivot table from the raw data with the Make field and Model field as filters and the Agency as a row label and the sum field as a Count Models, I get a slightly different count than from the raw data table.
What happens is that when I set
the model filter to Accord, I see two checkboxes labeled Accord.

Checking the two boxes, multiple selection, gives me the original count of 1507, but if I check each box separately, I get counts of 1493 and 14, which add up to the raw data count.
 
I have examined the records with the count of 14 but there is no difference in the appearance.
 
Why does the pivot table split these records? I don't see this happening with other Model records; ie., raw data count equals pivot table count.

Add another column, with the formula =LEN(B2), and copy down to match your record list (chagne B2 to the cell with the model).  Then Filter your data, select the first Honda Accord option,
and see what values shows in the column with the LEN function.
Then do the same with the second Honda Accord option.
Decide which is the correct one, then copy it and paste over the other.

Machine Throttling

• Go to the Start button.
• In the Search box, type "regedit" (without quotes) and press Enter.
• Look for the following registry key: "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ SQMClient\Windows\DisabledSessions".
• On the right window pane, delete the subkey: "Machine Throttling".
• Reboot your system.
