Cable modem won't connect to internet (Windows 7 - new computer)
I am currently using a cable modem/ethernet cable to connect to the internet. I recently purchased a new desktop PC (e machines model ET1831-07) with Windows 7. Plugged the ethernet cable in, but can't connect to the internet. Cable modem/ethernet cable
both work fine on my laptop (the one on which I'm currently typing.) Tried troubleshooting, but Windows can't seem to figure out the problem.
Also, when I try to connect to the internet through the network and internet window, it says I require a username and password from my ISP to connect. Since I use a cable modem, I don't have a username or password (and I called and verified this with my

Running System Update Readiness Command
On running the System Update readiness Command, it will Detect & Replace Incorrect Registry data with the Correct one. Which may ultimately Solve Cable modem won't connect to internet (Windows 7 - new computer) in Windows.
- Open CMD as Administrator by Simply Right Clicking on Start button > Command Prompt (Admin).
- Now Type or Copy paste "DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth" and hit Enter,
- Now again Type or Copy paste this "DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth" and hit Enter.
- Close the Command Prompt Window because we are done.
